Privacy Policy
Afterfeed helps people reduce short-form scrolling with friends. The app uses on-device Screen Time tools for protected app windows, Brainrot Receipts, Duellos, Group Detox, and Public Challenges. Recommendations are used as a replacement path when someone wants something better to watch, read, or finish.
Screen Time Data
Afterfeed's Screen Time monitoring stays on your iPhone. The app does not upload raw Screen Time history, detailed per-app usage timelines, FamilyActivitySelection tokens, or selected app/domain/category tokens to the backend.
Screen Time permissions are controlled by iOS. Deleting an Afterfeed cloud account does not automatically remove iOS Screen Time permissions; you can manage those permissions in iOS Settings.
Information Stored On This iPhone
Afterfeed may store local app data on the device, including onboarding completion state, Screen Time permission status and selected app/category/domain tokens, notification preferences, night protection settings, local Brainrot Receipt history, app blocking settings, recommendation preferences, saved/opened/skipped/completed item IDs, and local challenge cache state when signed out or offline.
Optional Account And Cloud Data
Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Apple, Afterfeed uses Supabase Auth to manage the account and may store authenticated user ID, profile display name, optional username, friend relationships, friend invite codes, in-app social messages between accepted friends, friend/message reports and block/remove actions, Duello/Group Detox/Public Challenge status, badge awards, and safe aggregate profile stats such as reels avoided, minutes reclaimed, completed count, streak days, badge count, depth score, and mascot appearance.
The backend stores coarse social/challenge state such as accepted, active, failed, completed, declined, failedAt, completedAt, and badge awarded. It does not store raw Screen Time data or FamilyActivitySelection tokens.
Public Challenge Counts
Public challenge joined/completed counts come from Supabase participation rows. Afterfeed should not fabricate public counts.
Social Safety
Signed-in users can report friends or in-app messages and can block or remove friends. Reports are used to review abuse, spam, or unwanted social behavior. Reports store account/social context only, such as reporter account ID, reported user ID, message ID when relevant, reason, status, and timestamps. Reports do not include raw Screen Time history, selected app tokens, or FamilyActivitySelection tokens.
Recommendations And Content
Afterfeed stores a curated content catalog containing titles, creators, summaries, tags, duration, format, source URLs, and artwork URLs. The app may use this data to show replacement recommendations, saved content, and content-related challenge completion.
Notifications
Afterfeed uses local notifications for night protection, lunch recommendations, night reading nudges, and local challenge reminders.
If a signed-in user enables notifications, Afterfeed may also use Apple Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver social challenge updates, such as when a friend loses, completes, or leaves a Duello or Group Detox. To send these notifications, Afterfeed stores the user's APNs device token, bundle ID, APNs environment, and coarse challenge update metadata. Push notifications do not include raw Screen Time history, selected app tokens, or FamilyActivitySelection tokens.
Account Deletion
Signed-in users can request account deletion inside the app. Account deletion calls a secure Supabase Edge Function that verifies the signed-in user, deletes the user's Supabase Auth account, deletes or removes current cloud profile/social records tied to that user, and signs the user out after success.
For Apple sign-in accounts, Afterfeed asks the user to confirm with Apple before deletion so the server can revoke the Apple authorization as part of the deletion flow.
Account deletion does not necessarily wipe local device-only settings, selected apps, local receipts, or iOS Screen Time permissions.
Information Not Collected
Afterfeed does not collect advertising ID, precise location, contacts, photos, health records, payment information, raw Screen Time history, or selected app tokens. The app does not use third-party ad tracking.
